21 – 25/10/2024
“Forest and Climate change” is a free-entrance exhibition whose main purpose is to highlight the value of the research and contributions made by Spanish and Vietnamese researchers and to bring it closer to the general public. In particular, the work of women scientists and technicians in this field. The exhibition, which will be bilingual and will be held in a double face-to-face and virtual format, will include more than 30 specially designed panels and posters, and it will also include some palpable proposals. The content of the exhibition will include information on topics such as the climate crisis, carbon in forests, the bioeconomy, or forest fires, among others.
The exhibition helps us understand the essential role that forests can play in the fight against climate change. They are carbon drains as well as a shelter for biodiversity. They play a key role in keeping the balance of the planet and they are also essential for the wellbeing of humanity by supplying essential goods and services. But forests are seriously threatened in many fronts.
The inauguration of the exhibition, preceded by a scientific seminar in the afternoon, will take place on Monday, October 21, 2024 at the VNU University of Science at 18:00 p.m. From that day on, it will be free open to the public until October 25, 2024.
This exhibition is a project of scientific diplomacy organized by the Embassy of Spain in Vietnam in collaboration with the University of Valladolid, the VNU University of Science (HUS), the VNU University of Social Science and Humanities (USSH), and with the supports of: the Forest Inventory and Planning Institute (FIPI), the Management Board for Forestry Projects (MBFP), the Thai Nguyen University of Sciences (TNUS), the Viet Nam National University of Forestry (VNUF), the Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry (TUAF), and the Vo Nhai Agricultural Processing Cooperative (VONACOOP).
